COMMUNITY SUPPORT PROGRAM
"SEMDC's Community Support Program has given us an affordable way to have professional development staff coordinate a Economic Development Program that rivals those in much larger communities."
What CSP is?

SMALL CITIES DEVELOPMENT GRANT PROGRAM
To date, SEMDC has successfully authored over $12 million in grants on behalf of communities in Southeastern Minnesota.
The Small Cities Development Program (SCDP) is a competitive Federal/State grant program that communities may use to address local needs.
Eligible uses of the funds may include:
Community infrastructure projects (water & wastewater)
Single/multi-family home rehabilitation
New housing construction
Commercial exterior rehabilitation
The SCDP grant funds are generally targeted to low & moderate income beneficiaries.
SCDP PROCESS
The SCDP grant process typically begins with a community-wide survey to assess issues and needs throughout the community.
If the need warrants, the next step is to submit a Part 1 application to the MN Dept. of Employment & Economic Development (DEED).
Following further research, a full application will be submitted to DEED.
Applications are due Nov. 1 of each year and the grant awards are announced the following March/April.
If awarded, the projects will proceed and the grant administration begins.
