Began work on a County-wide business directory

WEST CONCORD

Laid groundwork for a new business moving to town bringing 6-8 new jobs

 

LAKE CITY

Staff served as project coordinator for 102 acre development site

Assisted with compliance and reporting requirements for Federal Mogul Retention Project

Organized three customer service seminars with Workforce Development Inc.

 

 RUSHFORD VILLAGE

Authored the City’s Common Community Application for flood relief

 GRAND MEADOW

Coordinating with  developers on developing sites in the Industrial Park.

Working with USDA on leveraging funds for future projects and also for a grant for playground equipment.

Used Revolving Loan Funds to rehab four homes in town

 

LEROY

Worked with advertising agency to develop two new television ads for the community

Applied for and awarded a MN Design Team visit

Worked with  a developer on a 12,000 sq. ft. facility creating 8 livable wage jobs

 

MABEL

Set up a TIF Redevelopment District  to develop a six-unit senior apartment project

Acquired former feed mill/elevator site and demolished buildings for possible community center

Assisted opening three new businesses with revolving loan funds

 

BLOOMING PRAIRIE

The EDA is doing monthly tours of various businesses in town.

Assisted in getting a new barber in town

Used Revolving Loan Funds to rehab four commercial buildings downtown

 

PRESTON

Worked with prospective new retail development

Coordinated business roundtable with guest speaker Terry Whipple on entrepreneurialism

Coordinated new community entrance signs project

 

ST CHARLES

Worked with manufacturer on possible relocation to St. Charles

Completed two large revolving loans to new businesses totaling 85,000

RUSHFORD

Assisted with 80 business flood recovery applications

 

CALEDONIA

Tax Abatement project to build a commercial rental building to house three businesses

Marketing at County and State Fairs

 

HOUSTON COUNTY

Completed Small Cities grant application totaling $1,140,000

Coordinated Business Flood Recovery Effort (16 affected businesses)

Marketing efforts at County and State Fairs

 

FILLMORE COUNTY

Completed Small Cities grant application totaling $991,000

Organized Career Day with Workforce Development Inc. at local high school

Conducted a Small Business Marketing Seminar

 

HARMONY

Applied for and awarded DEED Redevelopment Grant for downtown redevelopment project

Developed new Housing Incentive Program

Administered $61,000 in RLF loans to local businesses

WINONA COUNTY

Worked with 38 businesses to date on flood recovery projects

Awarded three renewable energy seed grants to area high schools

Created a local Inventor and Entrepreneurs Club

CHATFIELD

Extensive work on a development project comprised of a new elementary school and housing

Assisted with the creation of a new television commercial

Served as lead agency supporting the Highway 52 reconstruction effort

Worked with 4 affected businesses to acquire State flood relief dollars

 

Additional Activities: 

 

SMALL BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT CENTER

Worked with 53 clients for a total of 449.5 billable hours and 46 in-kind hours 

 

SMALL CITIES GRANT REHABILITATION PROJECTS

 Administered  1 commercial and 8 residential rehabilitation projects  all within the cities of Canton, Spring Grove, Mabel, Preston, and Grand Meadow.
